Hostinger is one of the most advertised web hosts in India, with plans that start at the price of a cup of chai per month. But does the cheap entry price hold up once you look at renewals, speed and support? This Hostinger review for Indian buyers goes through the actual plans and rupee prices (including renewal), the India data centre, the hPanel dashboard, independent speed and uptime data, UPI payment, support and the renewal price trap that catches many first-time bloggers. You will also see who should buy Hostinger, who should skip it, and the best alternatives.

Quick answer: Hostinger is a good-value choice for beginners and small WordPress sites in India, with an India data centre, an easy hPanel, LiteSpeed servers and UPI payment. The catch is renewal: the ₹69/month Single plan (48-month term) renews at ₹289/month, excluding GST. Buy the longest term you can afford and compare renewal prices first.

Hostinger review at a glance

Hostinger India plans and prices

These are the shared and cloud web hosting prices listed on Hostinger India's web hosting page as of October 2026. All prices exclude 18% GST, are billed upfront for the full term, and the monthly figure is simply the total divided by the months.

Plan Promo price (48 months) Paid upfront Renews at Websites Storage Backups
Single ₹69/month ₹3,312 ₹289/month 1 10 GB SSD Weekly
Premium ₹139/month ₹6,672 ₹449/month 3 20 GB SSD Weekly
Unlimited ₹199/month ₹9,552 ₹649/month Unlimited 50 GB NVMe Daily, easy restore
Cloud Startup ₹599/month ₹28,752 ₹1,599/month Unlimited 100 GB NVMe Daily and on-demand

Source: Hostinger India web hosting page (opens in new tab). Shorter terms (12 or 24 months) cost more per month; always check the cart.

What each plan includes

  • Single: one website, one free mailbox, free SSL, weekly backups, CDN and Hostinger's AI tools. Good for one simple blog or portfolio. The plan card says "Free domain", but Hostinger's free domain help article (opens in new tab) says web Single plans do not qualify for any duration. Budget for a domain separately (or pick Premium).
  • Premium: three websites, free domain for one year, two mailboxes per website free for one year, free SSL. A sensible minimum if you might start a second site.
  • Unlimited: unlimited websites and mailboxes, faster NVMe storage and daily backups. This is the plan most WordPress users should consider, mainly for the daily backups.
  • Cloud Startup: more isolated resources for agencies or busy sites, with daily and on-demand backups.

Hostinger lists free SSL, malware scanning and domain privacy on every plan, plus a one-click WordPress installer. Features sold as "unlimited" or "unmetered" fall under its fair usage policy.

Hostinger review India: plan cards with 48-month prices and renewal prices

The renewal price trap explained

The headline ₹69 is real, but only for the first term, and only if you pay for 48 months upfront. After that, the plan renews at the regular rate. This is common across the industry, but the jump is large enough that you should plan for it.

Here is what the Single and Premium plans cost before GST:

Plan First 4 years (paid upfront) Each year after renewal Increase
Single ₹3,312 total (₹828/year) ₹3,468/year (₹289 × 12) About 4.2x per year
Premium ₹6,672 total (₹1,668/year) ₹5,388/year (₹449 × 12) About 3.2x per year
Unlimited ₹9,552 total (₹2,388/year) ₹7,788/year (₹649 × 12) About 3.3x per year

The "Renews at" figure is what you pay per month once the promo term ends. Hostinger lets you renew web hosting for 1, 12, 24 or 48 months, and its renewal help page (opens in new tab) says longer cycles usually cost less per month, so a longer renewal may work out cheaper. Hostinger sometimes offers renewal discounts in the dashboard too. Check the renewal amount in hPanel's billing section a month before expiry.

How to beat the trap

  1. Buy the longest term you can afford. Four years at the promo rate is the cheapest way to use Hostinger.
  2. Note your renewal date and the renewal price shown under the plan.
  3. Compare before renewing. Moving a small WordPress site to another host is a few hours of work, and Hostinger's own competitors often have similar promos.
  4. Remember the domain renews separately. The "free domain" is typically free for the first year only; after that, it renews at the normal domain price. Our domain name price in India guide lists typical renewal rates.

India data centre and server locations

Hostinger's support article on server locations (opens in new tab) lists India as an available location for web hosting, cloud hosting and VPS, alongside Indonesia and Malaysia in Asia, plus Europe, the USA and Brazil. Hostinger announced its Mumbai data centre in 2022, and the support article names Mumbai specifically for its Agency plans.

Why it matters:

  • Lower latency for Indian visitors. A server in India can respond noticeably faster to readers in Delhi, Pune or Chennai than a server in the US or Europe.
  • You choose the location at setup. For web and cloud plans, Hostinger says you can move a plan to another server location from the Plan Details page later. For VPS, the location is fixed after setup.
  • Availability can change. Hostinger notes the final list is whatever the dashboard shows when you set up.

Tip: If most of your readers are in India, choose India during setup. If your audience is global, use India plus the built-in CDN, or a free Cloudflare plan.

hPanel: Hostinger's control panel

Hostinger does not use cPanel. Instead it has its own dashboard, hPanel. If you have used cPanel before, read our explainer on what cPanel is and how hPanel differs.

What hPanel does well:

  • Clean, beginner-friendly layout with large tiles for websites, domains, email and billing.
  • One-click WordPress install with a setup wizard, plus one-click staging on higher plans only. Hostinger's staging guide (opens in new tab) says you need a "Business web hosting plan or higher", so Single and Premium do not get it.
  • Built-in tools: file manager, database manager (phpMyAdmin), SSL management, DNS zone editor, backups and restore, PHP version switcher.
  • Free SSL installs automatically.
  • Website builder and AI tools for people who do not want WordPress.

What some users dislike:

  • If you move from another host, the menus differ from cPanel, so tutorials written for cPanel do not match exactly.
  • Some advanced options (cron jobs, SSH access, Git) are only on certain plans.
  • Migrating away is slightly less standard than a cPanel-to-cPanel move, although WordPress migration plugins work fine.

Speed and uptime: what independent tests show

Hostinger's marketing promises fast LiteSpeed servers, NVMe storage on higher plans, a built-in CDN and object cache. Those are vendor claims. Here is what independent monitoring has reported.

  • HostingStep ran two Hostinger test sites (Premium and Business plans) in Hostinger's North Carolina data centre and checked them every 60 seconds with Pingdom from 19 North American locations. Between 1 October 2025 and 31 May 2026, both recorded 99.98% uptime, with average time to first byte (TTFB) of 447 ms (Premium) and 438 ms (Business). Source: HostingStep's Hostinger review (opens in new tab), updated September 2026.
  • Other review sites report uptime between roughly 99.9% and 100% over shorter test windows, with average response times in the 200 to 500 ms range depending on the server location and test method.

What this means for Indian sites:

  • These tests were run on US servers measured from North America. A site hosted in Hostinger's India location, measured from India, should see lower network latency, but we could not find an independent, long-term benchmark of the India location; what review sites publish are short or single-run tests. Measure your own site from India after launch.
  • Shared hosting performance depends heavily on your own site: a heavy theme, 30 plugins and uncompressed images will be slow on any host.
  • Hostinger's hosting agreement (opens in new tab) promises 99.9% uptime per month. If it misses that in a month (as determined by Hostinger), you can request a credit of 5% of that month's hosting fee, usable only for other Hostinger products. Scheduled maintenance and problems caused by your own scripts are excluded.

Customer support

  • 24/7 live chat and ticket support inside hPanel, in English and several other languages. Chat usually opens with an AI assistant, which hands over to a human agent.
  • No phone support. Hostinger's customer service policy (opens in new tab) lists only live chat and email/ticket ([email protected], with a reply within one business day).
  • Knowledge base and tutorials are large and useful, especially for WordPress and DNS tasks.
  • Priority support is marketed on all plans on the current pricing page.

Common complaints you will see on review sites and Reddit relate to slow first responses from the AI assistant, upsells during checkout, and renewal prices being higher than expected. Fewer complaints relate to actual downtime.

Payment methods: UPI, RuPay and GST

Hostinger's payment methods page (opens in new tab) lists these options for India (INR):

  • Credit, debit and prepaid cards: Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Discover, Diners Club and RuPay
  • UPI
  • PayPal (charged in US dollars)

Points to note:

  • Prices are shown without GST. Expect 18% GST to be added at checkout. On the ₹3,312 Single plan, that is about ₹596 extra.
  • Add your GSTIN at checkout if you run a GST-registered business: before paying, select India, tick Add company details and enter your company name and GST code. You can add it later under Account Information > Company, but invoices already issued will not change (Hostinger's tax code guide (opens in new tab)).
  • Auto-renewal charges a saved payment method before expiry (14 days early for yearly plans). Hostinger's auto-renewal guide (opens in new tab) says a method is saved only "if the used method is eligible" and does not say whether UPI qualifies. If you pay by UPI, check the auto-renewal toggle in hPanel's Billing section, or renew manually before expiry.

Hostinger VPS for developers

If you need root access, Docker or tools like n8n, Hostinger's KVM VPS plans are also available with an India location. As of October 2026, its n8n VPS page lists:

Plan Promo price Renews at vCPU RAM NVMe storage
KVM 1 ₹599/month ₹999/month 1 4 GB 50 GB
KVM 2 ₹779/month ₹1,199/month 2 8 GB 100 GB
KVM 4 ₹1,099/month ₹2,399/month 4 16 GB 200 GB
KVM 8 ₹2,199/month ₹4,399/month 8 32 GB 400 GB

Prices exclude GST and are paid upfront for the whole term; the page says renewal prices apply "for 2 years". Check the term length in the cart before paying, because shorter terms cost more per month.

These are unmanaged VPS plans. You handle security and updates yourself. For a broader comparison, see our best VPS hosting in India guide, and for a hands-on project, our tutorial on installing n8n on a VPS.

Who should buy Hostinger and who should not

Buy Hostinger if you are:

  • A beginner or student launching your first WordPress blog or portfolio and want low cost with a simple dashboard.
  • A small business that needs a 5 to 10 page website with business email on the same bill.
  • A freelancer managing a few client sites who can use the Unlimited or Cloud Startup plan.
  • Budget focused and willing to pay for four years upfront to lock the low price.

Skip Hostinger if you:

  • Want month-to-month flexibility without big renewal jumps. Pay-as-you-go cloud hosts like Cloudways suit you better.
  • Need cPanel specifically, for example because your developer only works in cPanel.
  • Run a busy WooCommerce store with heavy traffic. Start on a cloud or VPS plan rather than entry shared hosting.
  • Expect phone support in Hindi or English.
  • Need guaranteed renewal at the same price. Some Indian hosts advertise same-price renewal (with their own conditions).

Hostinger alternatives in India

Hostinger review: hPanel Billing Subscriptions page showing expiration dates and renewal prices

What to check before you pay for Hostinger

  • The ₹69/month Single price needs a 48-month upfront payment, renews at ₹289/month, and has no free domain; add 18% GST to everything.
  • Pick India as the server location during setup if most readers are Indian; VPS locations can't be changed later.
  • hPanel is easy for beginners, but cPanel tutorials won't match it, and staging needs a Business plan or higher.
  • HostingStep's 8-month US test logged 99.98% uptime and about 440 ms TTFB; nobody has published long-term data for the India location.
  • UPI and RuPay work, but if you pay by UPI, check that auto-renewal is actually on in hPanel's Billing section.
  • Unlimited is the plan to buy for daily backups; set a reminder a month before the renewal date to compare hosts.

Hostinger review verdict: buy Unlimited for four years, or skip it

Hostinger is worth it if you can pay for four years upfront and accept one trade-off: strong first-term value, an India server location and an easy dashboard, against renewal prices that jump about three to four times after the promo ends. For beginners and small business sites, the Unlimited plan is the one to buy, mainly for its daily backups. If you want cPanel, phone support or same-price renewals, look at the alternatives above. FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Hostinger good for Indian websites?

Yes, Hostinger is a good choice for most small Indian websites because it offers an India server location, low long-term prices, LiteSpeed servers and UPI payment. It suits blogs, portfolios and small business sites. Busy online stores or sites needing cPanel or phone support may be better served by a cloud, VPS or cPanel-based host.

What is Hostinger's renewal price in India?

As of October 2026, Hostinger India lists renewal prices of ₹289 per month for Single, ₹449 for Premium, ₹649 for Unlimited and ₹1,599 for Cloud Startup, excluding GST. These apply after the first 48-month promotional term ends. Always check the renewal amount in hPanel's billing section before your plan expires, as offers can change.

Does Hostinger have a data centre in India?

Yes. Hostinger's support documentation lists India as an available server location for web hosting, cloud hosting and VPS plans, and the company announced a Mumbai data centre in 2022. You select the location when setting up your website, and for web and cloud plans you can change it later from the Plan Details page.

Can I pay for Hostinger with UPI?

Yes. Hostinger's payment methods page lists UPI as an option for Indian customers paying in rupees, alongside Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Diners Club, Discover and RuPay cards, and PayPal in US dollars. GST at 18% is added at checkout. Check renewal settings, as automatic renewal may need a saved card.

Is Hostinger good for WordPress?

Hostinger works well for WordPress blogs and business sites, with a one-click installer, LiteSpeed caching, a built-in CDN and automatic SSL. The Unlimited plan is the better pick for serious WordPress use because it adds NVMe storage and daily backups. For very high-traffic WordPress or WooCommerce sites, consider cloud or VPS plans.

Does Hostinger offer a free domain?

Yes, on most web hosting plans: Premium, Unlimited and Cloud Startup include a domain free for the first year on 12-month or longer terms. The Single plan and monthly plans do not qualify, per Hostinger's free domain help article. From the second year, the domain renews at the normal price, such as about ₹899 for .in or ₹1,499 for .com as listed on Hostinger India in October 2026. Check renewal before checkout.

Does Hostinger give a refund?

Hostinger offers a 30-day money-back guarantee on hosting plans, so you can ask for a refund within 30 days of purchase if you are unhappy. Some items, such as domain registrations, are usually not refundable. Request the refund through hPanel or support chat and keep the conversation record for reference.

Is Hostinger better than Bluehost in India?

Hostinger is usually cheaper on long terms and has an India server location, while Bluehost India's entry plan allows more websites and renews at a lower rate than its peers' top tiers. Hostinger uses hPanel and LiteSpeed; Bluehost uses its own dashboard. Compare the renewal price and number of sites you need before choosing.

Does Hostinger have phone support in India?

No. Hostinger's customer service policy lists only live chat and email/ticket support, and its pricing page advertises 24/7 support. An AI assistant usually answers first in chat, with human agents available after. If phone support in Hindi or English matters to you, Indian hosts like BigRock or MilesWeb may suit you better.

Should I choose the 48-month Hostinger plan?

Choose the 48-month plan if you are sure about your website and can afford the upfront payment, because it gives the lowest monthly price and delays the renewal increase by four years. If you are only testing an idea, a 12-month plan costs more per month but lowers your risk. The 30-day refund helps either way.
