Every hosting company claims to be the fastest and cheapest, and every "top 10" list seems to rank whoever pays the most commission. This guide to the best web hosting in India takes a different approach. We compared nine popular hosts on what actually affects you after the first year: renewal prices, Indian data centres, control panel, backups, support and payment by UPI. Prices are taken from official pricing pages on 10 October 2026, with both the starting and the renewal price shown, so you can see the real long-term cost before you pay a single rupee.

Quick answer: For most Indian beginners and bloggers, Hostinger gives the best first-term value with an India data centre. MilesWeb suits buyers who want daily backups and advertised same-price renewal. BigRock is the safe choice for Indian phone support. Cloudways is best for growing business sites, and a VPS suits developers. Always compare renewal prices, not just the starting price.

How we chose the best web hosting in India

We did not rank hosts by the lowest headline price. We scored them on criteria that matter to an Indian website owner over three to five years.

  1. Renewal price, not just the starting price. The promo price lasts one term. The renewal price is what you pay for the rest of the website's life.
  2. India or nearby data centre. A server in India (usually Mumbai) or Singapore gives lower latency to Indian visitors than one in the US.
  3. Control panel. cPanel is the industry standard; custom panels like hPanel are easier for beginners but less portable. Not sure what this means? Read what cPanel is.
  4. Backups. Daily automatic backups with easy restore can save your site. Weekly backups are a weak point.
  5. Support. 24/7 chat at minimum; phone support and Hindi support are pluses for many Indian buyers.
  6. Payment and billing. UPI, RuPay and net banking acceptance, clear GST invoicing, and a money-back guarantee.
  7. Upgrade path. Can you move to cloud or VPS without changing companies?
  8. Independent performance data where available, clearly separated from vendor claims.

We do not claim to have run our own long-term benchmarks for all nine hosts. Where we mention speed or uptime numbers, we name the source.

Comparison table: starting vs renewal prices

Prices below are for the cheapest shared (or equivalent) plan, checked on each host's official page in October 2026, excluding 18% GST. Promo prices usually need the longest term shown. Where a host does not print a price we could confirm, the table says so and you should check the cart.

Host Entry plan Starting price Term for that price Renewal price Websites Storage India / nearby DC Panel
Hostinger Single ₹69/mo 48 months ₹289/mo 1 10 GB SSD India hPanel
MilesWeb Starter ₹69/mo (+3 months free) 36 months ₹69/mo under its "same price at renewal" guarantee (confirm in cart) 1 10 GB NVMe India mPanel (cPanel plans from ₹99/mo)
BigRock Standard (India server) ₹69/mo 60 months ₹409/mo 1 20 GB NVMe India server option cPanel
Bluehost India Starter ₹199/mo 36 months ₹349/mo 10 10 GB NVMe Asia location at checkout; India not named Bluehost dashboard

Namecheap Stellar Free 30-day trial, then the "After Trial" price in the cart 12 or 24 months $55.88/yr or $102.88 per 2 years (from 19 May 2026) 3 20 GB SSD Singapore (also US, UK, EU) cPanel
Hosting.com (ex-A2) Starter Shown in US dollars at checkout 12 to 48 months Higher regular rate after the first term 5 15 GB NVMe Mumbai and Singapore (plus USA, London, Sydney, Frankfurt) Hosting Panel (cPanel on separate plans)
HostGator India Not listed Merged into BigRock (July 2025) Not listed Not listed Not listed Not listed Not listed Not listed

Namecheap, Cloudways and Hosting.com bill in US dollars, so your rupee cost moves with the exchange rate. Cloudways' own pages listed the smallest DigitalOcean server at both $11 and $14 a month in October 2026, so confirm the figure on its pricing page.

1. Hostinger

Best for: beginners, bloggers and small WordPress sites on a budget.

Hostinger is the most popular budget host among Indian bloggers, and for good reason: low long-term pricing, an India server location and a beginner-friendly dashboard.

India prices (October 2026, 48-month term, ex-GST):

Plan Price Renews at Key features
Single ₹69/mo ₹289/mo 1 site, 10 GB SSD, weekly backups
Premium ₹139/mo ₹449/mo 3 sites, 20 GB SSD, weekly backups
Unlimited ₹199/mo ₹649/mo Unlimited sites, 50 GB NVMe, daily backups
Cloud Startup ₹599/mo ₹1,599/mo 100 GB NVMe, daily + on-demand backups

Source: Hostinger India pricing page (opens in new tab).

Pros

  • India listed as a server location for web, cloud and VPS plans, per Hostinger's server locations article (opens in new tab).
  • LiteSpeed servers, CDN and object cache on plans.
  • UPI and RuPay accepted.
  • Listed on WordPress.org's recommended hosting page.

Cons

  • Renewals jump about 2.7x to 4.2x compared with the promo.
  • Lowest price needs a 48-month upfront payment.
  • hPanel, not cPanel.
  • Weekly backups on Single and Premium.

Verdict: The best value if you commit for four years. Pick Unlimited if your site matters, because of daily backups. Read our full Hostinger review for details.

2. MilesWeb

Best for: buyers who want an Indian company, daily backups and predictable renewals.

MilesWeb is an Indian host headquartered in Maharashtra, with data centres in India and abroad. Its biggest selling point in 2026 is an advertised "same price at renewal" guarantee. Note that these web hosting plans use MilesWeb's own mPanel; if you want cPanel, its separate cPanel Hosting plans start at ₹99/mo (Single, 36-month term, India server location).

India prices (October 2026, 36-month term for web hosting, ex-GST):

Plan Price Key features
Starter ₹69/mo + 3 months free 1 site, 10 GB NVMe, daily backups
Premium ₹129/mo + 2 months free 5 sites, 25 GB NVMe, daily backups
Unlimited Cloud ₹189/mo + 2 months free Unlimited sites, 50 GB NVMe, daily and on-demand backups
Cloud Startup ₹299/mo + 2 months free Unlimited sites, 100 GB NVMe

Pros

  • Advertised same-price renewal and "no renewal shocks".
  • Daily backups even on the entry plan.
  • LiteSpeed servers and NVMe storage.
  • Accepts cards, UPI and net banking; 30-day money-back.

Cons

  • The plan page promises "Same price at renewal" as guaranteed, and its FAQ says renewals stay at the original purchase price, but no written terms define the guarantee, and the comparison table on the same page lists the ₹129 offer with a ₹289/month renewal. Confirm the renewal amount in the cart and keep a screenshot.
  • Smaller brand with less independent performance data published.

Verdict: A strong choice for long-term cost if the same-price renewal holds for your plan.

3. BigRock

Best for: small businesses that want an Indian brand, cPanel and phone support.

BigRock is one of India's oldest domain and hosting brands, part of Newfold Digital. Since July 2025 it has also absorbed HostGator India's customers.

Linux hosting prices (October 2026, 60-month term, ex-GST):

Plan Price Renews at Key features
Standard ₹69/mo ₹409/mo (India server) 1 site, 20 GB NVMe, 200 GB transfer, 10 email accounts
Business ₹159/mo Check cart 5 sites, 25 GB NVMe, unmetered transfer
Pro ₹199/mo Check cart 10 sites, 50 GB NVMe
Ultimate ₹249/mo Check cart 20 sites, 100 GB NVMe

Source: BigRock Linux hosting page (opens in new tab). Renewal rates differ between the India and US server options, so select India and read the renewal line before paying. These promo prices need a 60-month term: on the Standard plan, ₹4,140 is paid upfront for 60 months, while shorter terms cost ₹99/mo (36 months), ₹119/mo (24 months) or ₹139/mo (12 months).

Pros

  • Choose India or US servers at purchase.
  • cPanel and free SSL listed on plans; ask support to confirm the backup frequency for your plan.
  • Support by phone, chat and email, with phone numbers on BigRock's contact page.
  • Domains and hosting under one Indian account.

Cons

  • Renewal jumps are among the steepest here (₹69 to ₹409 on Standard).
  • BigRock's speed claims ("India's fastest hosting") are its own marketing based on its selected tests, not independent monitoring.

Verdict: Good if phone support and cPanel matter more than the lowest renewal.

4. Bluehost India

Best for: people running several small sites on one budget plan.

Bluehost is recommended on WordPress.org's hosting page (opens in new tab) and runs an India storefront in rupees.

India prices (10 October 2026, 36-month term, ex-GST):

Plan Price Renews at Key features
Starter ₹199/mo ₹349/mo 10 sites, 10 GB NVMe
Business ₹279/mo ₹529/mo 50 sites, 50 GB NVMe
eCommerce Essentials ₹649/mo ₹1,299/mo 100 sites, 100 GB NVMe

Pros

  • Lowest renewal-to-promo jump among the big brands (₹199 to ₹349).
  • Ten websites even on the entry plan.
  • Free domain for the first year on 12- or 36-month plans (redeem within 90 days).

Cons

  • Higher starting price than Hostinger, MilesWeb or BigRock.
  • The plan page lists "global data centers across North America, South America, Europe, and Asia", chosen at checkout, but does not name an India location for shared plans.
  • Storage is tight on Starter for 10 sites.

Verdict: Sensible if you plan several small sites and want a smaller renewal jump.

5. Cloudways

Best for: growing business sites, WooCommerce stores and agencies.

Cloudways (owned by DigitalOcean) is managed cloud hosting. You pick a cloud provider (DigitalOcean, Vultr, Linode, AWS or Google Cloud) and a location, and Cloudways manages the server stack, backups, security and updates.

Pricing: pay as you go, billed hourly and invoiced monthly in US dollars, excluding taxes. The smallest DigitalOcean server (1 GB RAM, 1 vCPU, 25 GB storage, 1 TB bandwidth) appeared at both $11 and $14 a month on different Cloudways pages in October 2026, so check the Cloudways pricing page (opens in new tab) for today's figure. There is a 3-day free trial with no card required.

Pros

  • No long lock-in and no renewal hike: the price you see is the price you keep.
  • Choose a server in India: DigitalOcean's Bangalore location, or Mumbai on AWS, Google Cloud and other providers.
  • Easy vertical scaling when traffic grows.
  • Server-level caching, staging and automated backups.

Cons

  • More expensive than shared hosting for a small blog.
  • No email hosting included; you need Zoho Mail, Google Workspace or a paid add-on.
  • Billing is in US dollars by card or PayPal; UPI is not listed. Indian customers pay invoices through Cloudways' "Pay by Link" while logged in, as RBI rules require, so your card must allow international transactions.
  • Not cPanel; a learning curve for complete beginners.

Verdict: The best upgrade for business sites that outgrow shared hosting, without managing a VPS yourself.

6. GoDaddy India

Best for: people who already have domains at GoDaddy and want one account.

India plans (October 2026):

Plan Websites Extras
Starter 1 cPanel; no free domain or email
Economy 1 Free domain and email
Deluxe 10 More storage
Ultimate 25 Most storage

GoDaddy's India page blocked our price check, so we have not printed its rupee prices here; open the GoDaddy India web hosting page (opens in new tab) and compare the intro price with the struck-through regular price. GoDaddy says the introductory price is valid for the initial term only and renewal pricing is subject to change, so treat the regular price as the likely renewal rate and confirm it in the cart. GoDaddy's web hosting data centres are in North America and Europe, with none in India.

Pros

  • Huge brand, cPanel, 30-day money-back guarantee.
  • Convenient if your domain is already at GoDaddy.

Cons

  • Starter has no free domain or email.
  • The regular price is several times the intro price, and no renewal price is printed.
  • Frequent upsells at checkout.

Verdict: Fine for existing GoDaddy customers; otherwise others offer more for less.

7. Namecheap

Best for: budget buyers who want to test hosting with a free trial.

Namecheap is best known for domains, but its Stellar shared plans include cPanel and a choice of US, UK, EU or Singapore data centres. Singapore is the closest to India.

Renewal prices (US dollars, for renewal invoices issued on or after 19 May 2026, before tax):

Plan 1 year 2 years Key features
Stellar $55.88 $102.88 3 sites, 20 GB SSD, 30 mailboxes
Stellar Plus $85.44 $146.44 Unlimited sites, unmetered SSD
Stellar Business $128.88 $251.88 Unlimited sites, 50 GB SSD

Source: Namecheap shared hosting pricing changes (opens in new tab). After the 30-day free trial, your first yearly payment is charged at the "After Trial" price shown in the cart; later renewals use the rates above. Month-to-month Stellar renews at $5.88.

Pros

  • 30-day free trial on shared plans.
  • Singapore data centre for Asian audiences; free website migration.
  • cPanel and Imunify360 security.

Cons

  • No India data centre.
  • Billed in dollars, so the rupee cost moves with the exchange rate.
  • Renewal rates went up in May 2026.

Verdict: A good no-risk way to try hosting; renewal costs need checking.

8. Hosting.com (formerly A2 Hosting)

Best for: developers who want shared hosting with good performance tuning and an India server option.

A2 Hosting rebranded as Hosting.com in 2025 after being acquired by World Host Group. Its shared plans start with 5 sites and 15 GB NVMe storage on the Starter plan. Prices are in US dollars and only load at checkout for the term you pick (monthly, yearly, 36 or 48 months); as with most hosts, the longest term has the lowest monthly rate and renewal is at a higher regular rate. Shared plans can be hosted in Mumbai, Singapore, the USA, London, Sydney or Frankfurt, and run on Hosting.com's own Hosting Panel; cPanel is offered as a separate shared product. Source: Hosting.com package comparison (opens in new tab).

Pros

  • NVMe storage, staging and Node.js on higher tiers.
  • Historically strong performance reputation as A2 Hosting.

Cons

  • Billed in US dollars.
  • Promo prices need a long term, and renewal costs more.
  • Brand transition caused some account and billing confusion in 2025.

Verdict: Worth a look for developers; less suitable for UPI-only beginners.

9. HostGator India (now part of BigRock)

HostGator India announced in 2025 that it was joining BigRock, with July 2025 given as the effective date, and existing customers were moved to BigRock's platform. New buyers are now directed to BigRock for the same type of products. If you see older "best hosting" lists recommending HostGator India, treat them as outdated and compare BigRock instead.

Total cost over 5 years

The cheapest first bill is not always the cheapest website. Here is a rough five-year cost for each entry plan, before GST and excluding domain renewal.

Host (entry plan) First term Years after promo Approx. 5-year total
Hostinger Single ₹3,312 (4 years) 1 year × ₹3,468 About ₹6,780
MilesWeb Starter ₹2,484 (36 months) + 3 months free 21 months × ₹69 = ₹1,449, if the same-price guarantee applies About ₹3,930
BigRock Standard ₹4,140 (60 months) None; the promo term covers all 5 years About ₹4,140
Bluehost India Starter ₹7,164 (36 months) 2 years × ₹4,188 About ₹15,540

Two lessons: a long promo term (BigRock's 60 months, Hostinger's 48 months) or a genuine same-price renewal (MilesWeb, if it applies) gives the lowest five-year cost, and a host with a smaller renewal jump can still cost more overall if its starting price is higher.

Best web hosting in India: BigRock India-server plans with renewal prices

Shared, cloud or VPS: which type do you need?

Your situation Hosting type Example picks
New blog, portfolio, under ~20,000 visits/month Shared Hostinger, MilesWeb, BigRock
Business site, several thousand daily visits, WooCommerce Cloud / managed Cloudways, Hostinger Cloud
Custom apps, Node.js, Docker, n8n, multiple stacks VPS Hostinger VPS, Contabo, Oracle Cloud free tier
Very large or regulated workloads Dedicated / enterprise cloud AWS, Google Cloud

Mistakes to avoid when buying hosting in India

  1. Comparing only the starting price. Look at the renewal line under every plan.
  2. Forgetting GST. Indian prices are almost always shown without 18% GST.
  3. Buying the domain blindly with hosting. A "free domain" renews at the full rate from year two. Know the domain name price in India before you tick that box.
  4. Choosing a US server for an Indian audience. Pick India or Singapore when the option exists.
  5. Skipping backups. Weekly backups can mean losing a week of posts or orders. Choose daily backups or add a backup plugin to off-site storage.
  6. Accepting every add-on. Paid SSL, SEO tools and "site lock" upsells are rarely needed. Free Let's Encrypt SSL is enough for most sites.
  7. Not testing support. Use pre-sales chat before buying and judge how fast and clear the reply is.
  8. Not understanding the setup. If you are new to how domains and servers fit together, start with our domain vs hosting explainer.

Six checks before you pay any Indian host

  • Read the "renews at" line first: Hostinger Single goes from ₹69 to ₹289 a month, BigRock Standard from ₹69 to ₹409.
  • For a beginner, Hostinger on a 48-month term is the best first-term value, with an India server.
  • MilesWeb promises same-price renewal and daily backups, but its own comparison table disagrees, so screenshot the cart.
  • Want cPanel and an Indian phone line? BigRock, which now also runs HostGator India's old customers.
  • Outgrowing shared hosting? Cloudways bills monthly in dollars with no renewal hike.
  • Add 18% GST and the domain renewal before you compare totals.

So which host should you buy in India?

Buy the host whose five-year cost, server location and support fit your site, not the one with the smallest number on the banner. For most beginners, Hostinger on a 48-month term is the best value; MilesWeb and BigRock are strong Indian alternatives (BigRock includes cPanel; MilesWeb offers it on separate plans); Bluehost India suits multi-site owners; and Cloudways is the natural upgrade for growing businesses. Before you buy, read our detailed Hostinger review, and explore more hosting guides in our Web Hosting & Servers section.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Which is the best web hosting in India for beginners?

Hostinger is the best web hosting in India for most beginners because it combines a low 48-month price, an India server location, an easy hPanel dashboard and UPI payment. MilesWeb is a close alternative if you want daily backups and its advertised same-price renewal. Whichever you pick, check the renewal price before paying.

Which hosting is best for WordPress in India?

For small and medium WordPress sites, Hostinger's Unlimited plan is a strong pick thanks to LiteSpeed caching, NVMe storage and daily backups, with an India data centre. MilesWeb is a good Indian option, with cPanel available on its separate cPanel Hosting plans. For WooCommerce stores or busy business sites, Cloudways managed cloud hosting scales better without long lock-in periods.

What is the cheapest web hosting in India?

As of October 2026, several hosts advertise entry plans at around ₹69 per month, including Hostinger (48-month term), MilesWeb (36-month term) and BigRock (India server, 60-month term). The cheapest over five years depends on the renewal price: a host with same-price renewal or a long promo term usually costs less overall than one with a large renewal jump.

Is it better to choose hosting with an Indian data centre?

Yes, if most of your visitors are in India. A server in Mumbai or elsewhere in India reduces network latency, which helps pages start loading faster for Indian users. Hostinger, MilesWeb and BigRock offer India locations. If your audience is global, a CDN such as Cloudflare matters more than the server location.

Why are hosting renewal prices so high in India?

Hosts use deep first-term discounts to win customers, then charge the regular rate on renewal. That is why a ₹69 plan can renew at ₹289 to ₹409 per month. To manage this, buy the longest term you can afford, choose hosts with smaller renewal jumps or same-price renewal, and compare prices a month before your plan expires.

Can I pay for web hosting with UPI in India?

Yes, many hosts accept UPI. Hostinger lists UPI for Indian customers, and MilesWeb lists UPI and net banking. Indian brands like BigRock also support local payment methods. Hosts that bill in US dollars, such as Cloudways or Hosting.com, may need an international card, so check the payment options before you sign up.

Is HostGator India still available?

HostGator India has merged into BigRock. The company announced the move in 2025, with July 2025 given as the effective date, and existing customers were migrated to BigRock's platform. New buyers are directed to BigRock for similar shared hosting products, so compare BigRock's current plans instead of older HostGator India listings.

Is Cloudways better than shared hosting?

Cloudways is better for growing business sites, WooCommerce stores and agencies because it gives dedicated cloud resources, easy scaling and no renewal price hike. For a small blog, shared hosting is cheaper and includes email. Many site owners start on shared hosting and move to Cloudways or a VPS once traffic and revenue grow.

Does web hosting price include GST in India?

Usually not. Most hosts selling in India, including Hostinger, MilesWeb and Bluehost India, show prices without 18% GST and add it at checkout. On a ₹7,000 hosting purchase, that is about ₹1,260 extra. Businesses with a GSTIN can add it at checkout to receive a proper GST invoice.

How much should I spend on hosting for a new website?

For a new blog or small business website, ₹3,000 to ₹12,000 for a two-to-four-year shared hosting term, plus GST, is usually enough. Spend more only when you need it: cloud or VPS hosting makes sense once your site gets steady traffic, runs an online store or needs custom software.
